Secretary of the National Security and Defense Council (NSDC) of Ukraine Oleksiy Danilov, on his Facebook page (the social network is banned in Russia; owned by Meta, which is recognized as extremist and banned in the Russian Federation), announced the plans of President Volodymyr Zelensky to hold an emergency meeting of the council amid the situation on Kakhovskoy hydroelectric power station (HPP).

“President Zelensky has decided to hold an emergency meeting of the National Security and Defense Council,” the statement said.

He clarified that this initiative is connected with damage at the Kakhovskaya HPP, as a result of which its upper part was destroyed.

Earlier, the mayor of Novaya Kakhovka, Vladimir Leontyev, said that the attacks on the Kakhovka hydroelectric power station, as a result of which water began to be discharged uncontrollably downstream, were a serious act of terrorism. According to him, the consequences of the incident will be studied.
