More than 30 suspected of preparing a coup d'état detained in Kyrgyzstan

The press service of the State Committee for National Security of Kyrgyzstan reported that the special services of the republic managed to detain more than 30 people who are suspected of preparing a coup d'état, RIA Novosti reports.

“Persons who planned to organize mass riots and actions of disobedience with a view to the subsequent violent seizure of power were detained,” the statement said.

It is noted that the total number of conspirators exceeds one hundred people. More than 30 of them were detained on Monday, June 5. During the interrogation, they admitted their guilt and gave confessions.

Earlier, Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov called alarming reports of an attempted coup in Kyrgyzstan. According to him, Russia is closely following the developments.
