The mayor of Nova Kakhovka, Vladimir Leontiev, denied reports that Ukrainian troops had blown up the Kakhovka hydroelectric power station (HPP), RIA Novosti writes.

According to him, the data about the attack of the Armed Forces of Ukraine (APU) on the hydroelectric power station are "nonsense." The politician noted that everywhere "in the city everything is quiet and calm." "That's bullshit! Everything is fine, everything is fine everywhere, I just got on the radio. Everywhere everything is normal in the city, everything is quiet and calm,” the authorities of Nova Kakhovka said.

Earlier, military correspondents reported that the Armed Forces of Ukraine had attacked the Kakhovskaya hydroelectric power station, the water level downstream of the Dnieper was rising. However, there was no official confirmation of the information.

In March, it became known that the Ukrainian military had changed the nature of the shelling of the hydroelectric power plant.
