The verdict in the Roizman case entered into force

The verdict in the criminal case of discrediting the RF Armed Forces against the former mayor of Yekaterinburg, Yevgeny Roizman (recognized as a foreign agent in the Russian Federation), entered into force on June 6. This was reported to TASS in the Oktyabrsky District Court of Yekaterinburg.

As a result, the ban on certain actions, which was in effect before the entry into force of the verdict, was lifted from Roizman. Previously, he cannot use the Internet, use means of communication, visit public places, and communicate with witnesses in the case without written permission.

On May 28, it was reported that Roizman became a participant in an accident. Details of the accident were not released by the traffic police.

On May 19, 2023, the Oktyabrsky District Court of Yekaterinburg found Roizman guilty and fined 260 thousand rubles in the case of discrediting the RF Armed Forces. At the same time, the prosecutor's office requested a fine of 280 thousand rubles. According to investigators, on a stream in July 2022, speaking about the Russian special operation in Ukraine, the politician uttered the words “war” and “invasion”.

On March 16 this year, the Leninsky District Court of Yekaterinburg arrested Roizman for 14 days for displaying extremist symbols on social networks.
