Former President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko spoke about the results of the Minsk agreements. He spoke about this in an interview with the Italian newspaper Corriere della Sera.

Poroshenko revealed the consequences of the Minsk agreements and admitted that they failed. However, the agreements helped to arm Ukraine, he noted. According to him, immediately after signing the document, he invited NATO instructors and acquired weapons and equipment. “During my presidency, we built an army,” the ex-president said.

“It was President [US Joe] Biden who lifted the sanctions that prevented us from giving weapons, we should always remember this, but it was we who built the human shield of resistance. …> With Minsk, I bought time, and now we have weapons, money and allies,” Poroshenko added.

The Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU) went on the counteroffensive. This was stated by Deputy Minister of Defense of the country Anna Malyar. She reported on attempts to conduct offensive operations in several directions of the front and added that the direction of Bakhmut (Ukrainian name for Artemovsk) would become their epicenter.
