Vivek Ramaswami, an American businessman and presidential candidate in the United States, said that the only reason for the outbreak of conflict in the region was the expansion of NATO. His words are quoted by the newspaper Politico.

According to him, NATO expansion was a disaster and the only reason for the launch of Russia's special military operation in Ukraine.

“I know it's not supposed to be said, it's actually true. NATO expansion was a disaster,” Ramaswamy shared.

He added that in order to resolve the conflict, Kiev must promise that it will not join the alliance, and Moscow, in exchange for territorial concessions, must stop joint military exercises with China and withdraw nuclear weapons from Kaliningrad, completely ending its military presence in the Western Hemisphere.

Earlier, the coordinator for strategic communications at the National Security Council (NSC) of the White House, John Kirby, said that the US administration does not want to escalate the conflict in Ukraine and expand its geography.
