Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov accused the United States of actively supporting terrorist organizations in Afghanistan. He stated this during a visit to the 201st Russian military base in Dushanbe, the website of the Russian Foreign Ministry reports.

According to the minister, after the flight of the "coalition" from Afghanistan, difficult events are taking place there. Lavrov believes that for 20 years the "coalition" has done nothing for the creative development of the country, but only left it in a state of increased threat of terrorism and sharply increased volumes of drug trafficking, from there they are spreading all over the world.

Lavrov called "false" recent statements by US Ambassador to Tajikistan Manuel Micaller about Washington's desire to achieve a peaceful national dialogue in Afghanistan.

“It is known for certain that the United States actively supports members of ISIS (the organization is banned in Russia) remaining in Afghanistan and Al-Qaeda (the organization is banned in Russia) and other terrorist structures affiliated with them. The goal is simple. Just as they acted in other cases here in the Caucasus at the end of the last decade, the goal is not to allow Afghanistan to calm down. It is in the interests of the United States that some destabilizing processes constantly take place here, ”said the head of the Russian Foreign Ministry.

Lavrov stressed that the desire of the United States to return its military infrastructure to neighboring countries is not accidental. The Americans, the minister noted, are deliberately "muddying the waters" themselves in order to be able to return to Afghanistan and again prevent "the countries of the region from living their own way", imposing their own rules on them and constantly completely violating international law.

Earlier it was reported that the head of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation Sergey Lavrov, as part of a visit to the 201st Russian military base in Tajikistan, said that the West continually seeks to find additional directions in order to open a second and third front against Russia.
