Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov said during his visit to the 201st Russian military base in Dushanbe that Europe has chosen the path of war with Russia, and if so, then Moscow must achieve its goals, the press service of the foreign ministry reports.

He drew attention to the fact that the concept of Russian foreign policy states that "Europe has chosen the path of war with us."

“Of course, we don’t care to live side by side with them, but if this is a war, then we must achieve our goals,” the minister said.

According to him, the Russian Federation has much more noble goals in comparison with the Europeans.

As the diplomat noted, Europe "wants someone else's", and the Russian Federation - "its own".

“We never wanted someone else's. All those who joined our country since the time of the Russian Empire did so voluntarily,” Lavrov added.

On January 24, German Foreign Minister Annalena Burbock, during her speech at PACE, said that Germany and other European countries were waging war against Russia. Then the representative of the Russian Foreign Ministry, Maria Zakharova, replied that, judging by the statements of Burbock, Western countries had planned a “war against Russia” in advance. She also noted that Europe does not seem to realize that the US is dragging it into a major war for its own benefit.
