Ukrainian Foreign Minister Dmytro Kuleba predicted a military-political defeat of NATO in the absence of the necessary decisions that bring Kyiv closer to membership in the alliance, TASS reports.

“The Bucharest decision of 2008 was taken in a completely different reality, and with all due respect to our Romanian colleagues, the Bucharest decision of 2008 is today divorced from reality as much as possible,” he said.

According to him, certain steps should be taken at the NATO summit in Vilnius, which in the future will allow Ukraine to seriously count on joining the alliance. The minister added that he discussed this issue with British Foreign Secretary James Cleverley, noting that Kyiv is aware of what arguments need to be used in order for the military bloc to make the right decisions.

Earlier, Kuleba said that Kyiv received enough weapons to launch a counteroffensive. At the same time, he stressed that Ukraine, most likely, will become a member of the alliance only after the end of hostilities.
