The first groups of Ukrainian pilots went to the UK for training

Prime Minister of Ukraine Denys Shmyhal wrote on Telegram about sending the first groups of Ukrainian pilots to study in the UK.

The politician also said that during a meeting with British Foreign Secretary James Cleverley in Kiev, he thanked him for his unwavering support, leadership in creating a “fighter coalition” and for his willingness to train Ukrainian pilots.

On May 21, Mikhail Podolyak, adviser to the head of the office of the President of Ukraine, said that Western countries had made a positive decision to supply F-16 fighter jets to the republic. He noted that "there are two very intensively discussed issues, as well as on the eve of the creation of a tank coalition."

As Alastair Crook, an agent of the British Foreign Intelligence Service, explained, the supply of F-16s to Ukraine is an attempt by the West to save face against the backdrop of Russia's military successes.

On June 5, the head of the Ukrainian Ministry of Defense Oleksiy Reznikov promised that the republic would not use these fighters in the summer.
