President of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko said that he always called the Kaliningrad region “his own”, since it was the Belarusian side that was responsible for the region during the existence of the Soviet Union, the Pool of the First Telegram channel reports. According to him, this does not mean that Minsk has any claims to a part of Russia.

“Belarus in the Soviet Union, so to speak, was responsible for the Kaliningrad region. That's why I always called her mine. I was afraid that the Russians would not think that we were pretending to capture the Kaliningrad region there, ”Lukashenko said at a meeting with the governor of the Kaliningrad region Anton Alikhanov.

As the President of Belarus pointed out, he sees nothing wrong with the rapprochement of the Russian region with Minsk. He jokingly added that Russian Ambassador Boris Gryzlov, who was also present at the meeting between the Belarusian leader and Alikhanov, "did not hear this."

Earlier, Lukashenka said that the West is preparing a forceful scenario for a change of power in Belarus abroad.
