In Ukraine, the news spread about the death of the head of the Main Intelligence Directorate (GUR) of Ukraine, Kirill Budanov, but it is not true, the Ukrainian Center for Counteracting Disinformation reported.

The circulated message says that the head of Ukrainian intelligence allegedly "died from a recent missile attack" and that preparations are already underway at the national center "Ukrainian House" for his burial.

“The news about the death of the head of the GUR is another informational “stuffing,” the center said, asking fellow citizens to believe only reports from official sources.

Budanov has not appeared in public space since May 29, when he threatened Moscow with a speedy response to missile attacks on Ukraine.

Russia put Budanov on the international wanted list. The Lefortovo Court of Moscow arrested him in absentia on charges of creating a terrorist community, a terrorist attack in Russia, and illegal trafficking in explosives and weapons.
