The Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU) have gathered from 60,000 to 80,000 fighters for the counteroffensive. This was announced by the field commander of the Pyatnashka Brigade of the People's Militia of the Donetsk People's Republic (NM DNR) Akhra Avidzba, reports Ura.ru.

According to him, half of the Ukrainian military assembled for the counteroffensive was trained in the West. The brigade commander also noted that the Russian military does not pay attention to the statements of the Ukrainian authorities about the strength of its army.

Earlier, the readiness of the Armed Forces of Ukraine for a counteroffensive was assessed by the Chairman of the Committee of Chiefs of Staff of the US Armed Forces, General Mark Milley. In his opinion, it is too early to talk about what might happen during such maneuvers. At the same time, he said that the Ukrainian military have good training.
