The commander of the Vostok battalion of the Donetsk People's Republic (DPR), Alexander Khodakovsky, said that German-made Leopard tanks were noticed in the region. He wrote about this in his Telegram channel.

“For the first time, Leopards were seen in our tactical area,” the publication says. According to the statement of the battalion commander, up to 30 units of this equipment were recorded in the area of \u200b\u200bthe settlement of Novodonetskoye.

Earlier, Ukrainian sources appeared footage of the first Leopard tanks transferred to the army of the republic, received from Western states, which allegedly are already near the front. It was reported that so far no one has seen this type of equipment near the line of contact. As expected, the Ukrainian military may deliberately not use them in combat for the further use of tanks during the planned counteroffensive.

On June 5, the Russian Ministry of Defense announced the failure of the Ukrainian army's attempt to conduct a large-scale offensive in five sectors of the front in the Yuzhno-Donets direction.
