Samsung has promised to fix the problem with excessive blur in photos taken with the camera of the Galaxy S23 series smartphones. This is reported by the publication Android Authority.

On its Polish website, representatives of the corporation stated that the company has recognized the problem and will solve it with an update in the future. According to journalists, users noticed camera problems in the Galaxy S23 line of smartphones back in April. It turned out that when shooting objects at close range, blurry areas appear in the photographs, shaped like a banana. In this regard, the problem was called Bananagate.

Samsung engineers noted that the blur problem is related to the fast lens, which is designed to capture high-quality photos in poor lighting conditions. However, image processing algorithms can work with an error.

As a temporary measure, representatives of the company suggested that users shoot objects at a distance of at least 30 centimeters. Samsung engineers also advised consumers to take photos by holding the smartphone vertically.

In mid-March, Reddit users exposed the ability of the Samsung Galaxy S23 Ultra camera to take space photos. Enthusiasts found out that when shooting space objects, the flagship camera does not take real photos, but generates an image using neural networks.
