The official representative of the Ministry of Unification of South Korea, Koo Byung Sam, criticized the statements of representatives of the DPRK about the possible launch of a launch vehicle without prior notification from the International Maritime Organization (IMO). The official's statement was published by the Korean Yonhap News Agency.

“It is very regrettable that the position of North Korea is gradually moving away from international standards and common sense. ..> Such an attitude will only exacerbate [Pyongyang's] international isolation and the suffering of the population. Once again, we urge North Korea to choose the right path for the sake of the future,” said a spokesman for the South Korean Unification Ministry.

On June 4, international observer Kim Myung-chul wrote about a possible missile launch without notifying the IMO, which criticized Pyongyang. His article was published by the Korean Central News Agency.

Earlier, the North Korean authorities announced a new launch of a rocket with a satellite after an unsuccessful launch.
