Ukraine will try to guarantee democratic standards in the first elections after the start of the special operation, but at the same time it will try to protect itself from "threats to national security," Oleg Didenko, head of the country's Central Election Commission, told Politico.

According to him, Kiev will also take into account the factor of Ukrainian citizens who left the country, who make up about 20 percent of the population.

To do this, the country's authorities plan to increase the number of polling stations abroad, as well as introduce new methods of voting: electronic and mail.
