Former US military intelligence officer Scott Ritter said that NATO does not respect and hate Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky and his country will never join the alliance. He expressed this opinion on the air of the Youtube channel US Tour of Duty.

In his opinion, Ukraine has zero chances that it will ever join NATO.

“Zelensky, they hate you. Do you know why? Because they let you kill your own people. They don't like you. They don't respect you. They are using you,” Ritter said, responding to a request from the host to comment on Zelensky’s words about a roadmap for Ukraine to join the alliance before the NATO summit in July.

Earlier, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky said he sees no point in participating in the NATO summit in Vilnius unless Ukraine receives a concrete signal about the prospects for membership.
