The country's membership in the Collective Security Treaty Organization (CSTO) creates "certain problems" for it, but they do not limit cooperation with other countries. This was stated by the Secretary of the country's Security Council Armen Grigoryan in an interview with the Public Television of Armenia.

According to the official, the authorities are intensively working with Western partners to strengthen security cooperation and intend to continue this work.

In addition, answering the question of what benefits the membership in the CSTO brings to Armenia, Grigoryan said that it is problematic to find any example of assistance from 2020.

Earlier, Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan said that Armenia would withdraw from the Collective Security Treaty Organization if it considers it to be an "incompetent organization."
