Secretary of the Security Council of Armenia Armen Grigoryan called it possible to sign a peace treaty with Azerbaijan before the end of this year. His words are quoted by Interfax.

Grigoryan said that the negotiations between Yerevan and Baku are very intensive, and if the current pace is maintained, as well as with the assistance of other countries, the signing of peace is possible before the end of 2023.

"We are determined to sign the agreement as quickly as possible," the Security Council Secretary said.

In May, Foreign Ministers of Armenia and Azerbaijan Ararat Mirzoyan and Jeyhun Bayramov agreed on two articles of a peace treaty during talks in the United States.

At the same time, Armen Grigoryan stated that there was no progress in the negotiation process between the parties. Later, Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan announced that his republic was ready to recognize Nagorno-Karabakh as part of Azerbaijan.
