National Security Adviser Jake Sullivan said the White House expects Ukraine's upcoming counteroffensive to bring in "strategically important territories." He stated this in an interview with CNN.

“We are confident that this counter-offensive will allow Ukraine to take away strategically important territories from Russia,” Sullivan said.

He also added that the United States is convinced that "the Ukrainians will succeed in this counteroffensive." At the same time, he noted that the United States did not intend to evaluate the counteroffensive, since "this is not an exam."

Earlier, Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orban called for persuading Moscow and Kyiv to return to negotiations and prevent a possible counteroffensive by Ukrainian troops. According to the politician, he is aware that the attacking side may suffer heavy losses. At the same time, military analysts believe that the Ukrainian army will face many obstacles during the counteroffensive, despite the preparation and supply of weapons.

Ukrainian Foreign Minister Dmytro Kuleba responded to Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orban's call to abandon the counteroffensive by suggesting that he persuade Russian President Vladimir Putin to withdraw troops from Ukrainian territory.
