Representatives of the Ukrainian studio GSC Game World reacted to the leak of an early version of STALKER 2. The company's statement was published on Twiiter.

In a message to fans of the STALKER series, the studio confirmed the leak. “Our team identified a vulnerability that was used by a group of Russian hackers who attacked the company for almost a year and a half,” the authors noted. According to them, the leaked build, which enthusiasts were able to run, was intended to test various aspects of the game.

“At this point, we kindly ask stalkers and those who want to join the Zone in the future not to watch or share leaked materials from the game,” the company said. Also, the GSC asked gamers not to launch the game, so as not to "spoil the experience of exploring the Zone on your own."

In conclusion, the developers of STALKER 2 noted that "they give their hearts and souls wholeheartedly" to the creation of a new title. “Despite the problem that has arisen, we will continue to work to ensure that the game meets your expectations, as we hope,” the studio emphasized.

The authors of the "Herald of the same Stalker" community, which published the archive with the game, stated that the level of lies and manipulation of GSC "exceeded all expectations." “It is very convenient to call the incompetence of your security staff a “vulnerability”, and then accuse us of taking advantage of it by downloading the build without hindrance,” enthusiasts emphasized.

The current build of STALKER 2 appeared on the network at the end of May. The archive with the game includes about 200 gigabytes of data.
