Military expert, retired colonel Anatoly Matviychuk spoke about the plans of the Russian military to Kharkov. In his opinion, already in June, the troops will take control of Kupyansk, and then the entire region, Moskovsky Komsomolets reports.

The specialist noted that in autumn the Russian Armed Forces were forced to withdraw from Kharkov, but the population there is quite loyal to the Russian side.

“I think that our command’s immediate plans are to liberate the city and make sure that the Kharkiv region completely becomes part of the Russian Federation,” Matviychuk said.

According to him, this pushes the borders deeper into Ukraine and ensures the security of the Belgorod region.

Matviychuk also indicated that in the near future Maryinka would be taken under the control of the Russian military, now it is in a semicircle.

On the eve it became known that the Russian Armed Forces came close to Kupyansk in the Kharkov region. This was stated by the head of the Russian administration of the region Vitaly Ganchev.
