The deputy of the Verkhovna Rada Maxim Buzhansky had a skirmish with a journalist because of his unwillingness to speak Ukrainian. The conflict took place on the air of the Kiev24 TV channel.

“I will speak as I see fit,” Buzhansky said. He stressed that Ukrainian was adopted as the state language in Ukraine, but the state guarantees the free development of other languages. At the same time, according to the deputy, "half of the country speaks Russian."

He added that Ukrainian viewers are multilingual and invited the TV presenter to tell the Russian-speaking soldiers fighting at the front about this rule.

Earlier, President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky during a press conference in Moldova asked a journalist to ask a question in Russian. Before that, she warned the head of state that she did not know Ukrainian.
