Windows 10 remains the most popular operating system (OS) from Microsoft. It is reported by Neowin.

Media journalists referred to data from the Statcounter agency, according to which the share of Windows 10 increased to 72 percent in May. Thus, the operating system released in 2015 is still the most popular operating system from Microsoft.

Experts called the current Windows 11 the second most demanded system from the American company. However, in May, the growth in the number of OS users slowed down, the share of the system was only 23 percent. According to journalists, interest in Windows 11 may be attracted by the release of the Momentum 3 update.

Windows 7 is in third place with a share of about 4 percent. The top 5 also included Windows 8.1 and Windows 8, with 0.7 and 0.4 percent, respectively. The authors of the report noted that the ranking also included Windows XP, which received a share of 0.3 percent. The material says that this year 10 years have passed since the end of support for a rare operating system.

Among Russian users of the most popular operating system from Microsoft, Windows 10 also remained, with a share of 70 percent. Windows 11 and 7 are in second and third places with a share of 13 and 8 percent, respectively.

At the end of May, the Windows 11 operating system received the third global update Moment 3. The update included new privacy settings, an updated Start menu, and an indicator of a working VPN network.
