The American company Tesla has changed the rules for selling new cars. This is reported by the publication Electrek.

As it became known to the authors of the thematic portal, Tesla stopped supplying customers with electric cars with a 100 percent charged battery. “In accordance with the new industry policy, we are starting to deliver vehicles with a battery charge of no more than 50 percent,” the corporation noted.

Previously, Tesla always delivered its cars with a fully charged battery, according to journalists. Experts have suggested that the company will no longer charge electric vehicle batteries to 100 percent for safety reasons. Electrek found that many shipping companies require that electrical equipment carried by water should have a battery no more than 20-50 percent charged.

To compensate for possible inconvenience, the corporation offered new users coupons for free charging of Tesla cars at Supercharger stations. In conclusion, the authors noted that the majority of car enthusiasts will receive cars with batteries less than 50 percent charged, as Tesla ships a large number of electric cars from the Chinese factory Gigafactory by sea.

At the end of May, Tesla banned drivers and passengers from playing video games in cars while driving. According to the journalists of The Verge, in this way the company's leaders reacted to the investigation of the American authorities.
