American equipment from Kuwait destined for Ukraine turned out to be dangerous

American military equipment stored in warehouses in Kuwait and destined for shipment to Ukraine was not ready for combat and could pose a danger to operators. This is with reference to the report of the Pentagon Inspector General reports Defense News.

In particular, all six M777 howitzers and 25 of the 29 M1167 highly mobile multi-purpose wheeled vehicles were not ready for battle. The corresponding equipment required repairs, which increased the delivery time for the equipment needed by Ukraine.

So, all six howitzers reused expired hydraulic fluid, which is unacceptable, since the corresponding substance decomposes over time and can provoke “catastrophic consequences and failures in the operation of critical systems.”
