Russia has created a drone resistant to electronic warfare

Specialists of the Sakhalin Center for Unmanned Technologies have developed a Lutik quadrocopter resistant to electronic warfare (EW). The device is designed for reconnaissance and delivery of ammunition. This was reported to TASS in the organization.

It is noted that in the zone of a special military operation, their own and other people's electronic warfare systems are working. Chinese-made drones, in the event of a loss of satellite and radio communications, freeze and sit down after the battery is discharged.

“Buttercup has a special adjustment: when the drone enters the electronic warfare zone, where satellites and the radio control system are lost, our device gives full throttle. It makes a so-called rebound - it flies in an absolutely random direction to get out of the electronic warfare zone, ”said the Sakhalin Center for Unmanned Technologies.

The interlocutor of the agency noted that anti-drone guns mainly work at a distance of 500-700 meters. “When the drone flies out of this zone, we understand that something is wrong here: we must either bypass this zone or send something there to eliminate the electronic warfare equipment,” he said.

The first version of the Buttercup drone has already been tested in the special operation area, as a result of which an upgraded version of the device has been created, featuring increased flight time and payload. The organization clarified that the second version of the drone is capable of staying in the air for an hour in binocular mode, and with a 1.5 kilogram payload, the flight duration is half an hour. Buttercup can carry and drop ammunition weighing up to 1.2 kilograms.

In May, Dmitry Kuzyakin, CEO of the Center for Integrated Unmanned Solutions, said that the company's specialists had developed a universal line of Joker FPV drones, the drones of which differ from each other in the mass of the payload carried.
