Apple will not deprecate its 2017 smartphone. This is reported by iDrop News.

Media journalists referred to an insider under the nickname analyst941, who said that the iPhone X and newer Apple smartphones will have support for iOS 17. Thus, the new OS will be available on devices that support iOS 16. At the same time, in early April, insiders reported that the first Monobrow iPhones with Face ID won't get iOS 17 update.

According to journalists, analyst941 said that his relative worked at Apple, who provided the information - allegedly the source was in direct contact with the vice president of the corporation, Craig Federighi. However, the firm found out that the employee was leaking confidential information and fired him.

iDrop News experts noted that there is logic in the insider's message. Released in 2017, the iPhone X was the first device to receive a Bionic processor - the chip is still powerful enough to work with the new operating system. The authors also suggested that “sentimental” top managers work at Apple, who do not yet want to recognize the first phone with a screen cutout as obsolete.

Earlier, Bloomberg columnist Mark Gurman said that at WWDC on June 5, Apple will introduce a mixed reality (MR) headset and new computers. Also, company executives will show new versions of the OS.
