Huawei has released a smart watch with a glucometer

The Chinese company Huawei has released a smartwatch with a non-invasive glucometer. This is reported by Huawei Central.

According to representatives of the corporation, Huawei Watch 4 can be considered the first smart watch on the market with the function of checking blood sugar levels. The glucometer built into the device collects data in a non-invasive way, analyzing heart rate and ECG readings without piercing the skin. Also, the device can give recommendations to users to reduce sugar levels.

The watch line includes the Watch 4 and Watch 4 Pro models. The launch version received a 1.5-inch AMOLED display and a steel case, the Pro model received an LTPO AMOLED screen and a titanium case. The watch face is protected by glass; up to 40,000 watch faces can be installed on the device.

Also, the smartwatch came out with a heart rate monitor, moisture protection, support for LTE cellular communications with eSIM, Always-on display mode, GPS. The devices are based on HarmonyOS 3.0.

The cost of Huawei Watch 4 is 2899 yuan, or about 33 thousand rubles. Advanced Watch 4 Pro was priced at 3399 yuan, or about 39 thousand rubles.

In April 2022, Bloomberg sources reported that Apple had begun work on a smartwatch with a glucometer. However, in the coming years, the company does not plan to release such a gadget on the market.
