The United Arab Emirates will launch an automatic interplanetary station (AMS), which will explore the asteroid belt located between the orbits of Mars and Jupiter. Khaleej Times writes about it.

UAE Prime Minister and Vice President Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum said the mission, dubbed the MBR Explorer, will last thirteen years, of which six will be spent on its development and seven on a research flight. In total, AMS must overcome five billion kilometers, studying seven asteroids along the way, on the last of which it will land.

In July 2020, the Martian mission Hope was launched from the Tanegashima cosmodrome (Japan) with the help of an H-IIA rocket, which became the first UAE AMS in deep space.

In September 2019, Hazzaa Al-Mansouri, the first UAE astronaut, flew to the International Space Station on the Soyuz MS-15 spacecraft.
