Tests of the oxidizer tank of the promising Soyuz-5 medium rocket have been completed. Roskosmos announced this on Telegram.

“Vibration-strength tests of a sample of the oxidizer tank of the bench block of the first stage were carried out for cases of transportation and for modes that simulate the operation of a propulsion system,” the state corporation notes.

Roskosmos added that the tests showed the correctness of the design solutions used in the design of the product.

“In the future, the oxidizer tank is subject to defect detection and reassembly into a prototype designed for cold and fire bench tests at the Research and Testing Center of the Rocket and Space Industry,” the state corporation concluded.

In January, Director General of the Progress Rocket and Space Center (RCC) Dmitry Baranov said that the first launch of the Soyuz-5 rocket was scheduled for 2024.
