Rosoboronexport will present an underwater drone in St. Petersburg

Rosoboronexport (part of the Rostec State Corporation) will present the Harpsichord-1RE underwater robotic drone during the International Maritime Defense Show (IMDS) in St. Petersburg. This was reported in the press service of the company.

Director General of Rosoboronexport Alexander Mikheev noted that the Harpsichord-1RE is a completely Russian development and has a number of unique characteristics. “This product will be in demand both in our country and among foreign customers. Very soon, at the International Naval Show in St. Petersburg, we will present an underwater drone to our foreign partners, ”the press service quotes him as saying.

"Harpsichord-1RE" is designed to perform survey and search operations and survey bottom objects at depths of up to six thousand meters. The apparatus can operate in the correction mode via the hydroacoustic communication channel from the carrier vessel and in the offline mode.

In February, Andrei Grigoriev, general director of the Advanced Research Foundation, announced that the Russian autonomous underwater vehicle Vityaz-D, which descended into the Mariana Trench, received new functionality after modernization.

In August 2022, the Rubin Central Design Bureau (TsKB) presented a demonstration sample of the improved Harpsichord-2R underwater drone with increased diving depth at the Army-2022 forum.
