The Witcher title line has become one of the most successful gaming series. This is reported by The Verge.

Media journalists referred to a disclosed report by CD Projekt RED, according to which the video games of the Witcher series sold 75 million units. At the same time, only the current part of The Witcher 3, which was released in 2015, accounted for 50 million copies sold.

According to experts, the series from the Polish studio CD Projekt RED is one of the largest gaming franchises of all time. Media journalists recalled that in April 2022 it became known that sales of The Witcher 3 reached 40 million copies, that is, the title reached 50 million units per year.

The material says that a very small number of game series have achieved the same success as The Witcher. As an example, the authors cited the games Mario Kart 8 Deluxe and Red Dead Redemption 2, each of which exceeded the mark of 50 million copies sold.

In the fall of 2022, CD Projekt RED presented a remake of the original The Witcher game. The details of the title were not disclosed, however, it is known that the game will be created from scratch on the Unreal Engine 5.
