Xiaomi will transfer part of the production of gadgets from China

The Chinese company Xiaomi will partially transfer the production of audio equipment to India. It is reported by Reuters.

The agency's journalists found out that Xiaomi has entered into an agreement with the Indian electronics manufacturer Optiemus. The Chinese corporation will start producing some of the audio equipment at factories in India. It is not specified whether the gadgets produced will be sold only in the Indian market or will also be exported to other countries.

Information about the transfer was confirmed by the corporation. So, representatives of the Indian office of Xiaomi reported on Twitter that they had agreed with Optiemus to start production of audio equipment in the city of Noida. In India, the IT giant sells smart speakers, wired and wireless headphones, according to Reuters experts.

The company also clarified that by 2025 they intend to localize the production of gadgets in India by 50 percent. The material says that the country's authorities are pushing foreign companies to invest in organizing the production of their goods directly in India.

In early March, Bloomberg sources said that Apple's Chinese suppliers were considering moving production to Vietnam and India. According to insiders, manufacturers of components for gadgets planned to diversify their business and reduce their dependence on China.
