During the conversation, the experts discussed the characteristics and prospects of the set-top box, which Sony showed at the end of May. According to the authors, they do not understand the purpose of the device, and the company failed to interest users. “Show it at work. Show why the device is needed at all and why you made it,” said Digital Foundry author Richard Leadbetter.

Project reviewer John Linneman said that the console looks like "it was made by a sixth grader" and emphasized that the console does not have the elegance that the PS Vita and other early PlayStation devices had. Experts questioned the convenience of streaming games via PS Remote Play and noticed that the console has a small autonomy - according to rumors, about four hours.

The Project Q compact set-top box received an IPS screen with a resolution of 1080 pixels and a built-in DualSense controller. The device allows you to play PS5 games via PS Remote Play.

Earlier, Digital Foundry experts said that the gaming market does not need to launch powerful new consoles. According to the authors of the project, the release of new consoles will add problems to game developers.
