Representatives of CD Projekt RED assessed the likelihood of a merger with Sony Corporation. Rumors in his Twitter commented on the PR-manager of the Polish company Ola Sondey.

In response to questions from social media users about whether CD Projekt RED is going to become part of Sony, Sondey replied that the studio is not considering such a possibility. “We are not in talks about a merger with Sony,” concluded a representative of the Polish studio.

Gamers began to discuss the possibility of Sony buying the creators of The Witcher and Cyberpunk 2077 after the message of the famous insider Liz in Discord. Liz said the parties are considering a deal.

In the event that Sony did acquire the Polish studio, then future CD Projekt RED titles could turn out to be PlayStation exclusives. Social networks have suggested that such a development is possible - especially against the backdrop of Microsoft's acquisition of Activision Blizzard.

Earlier, the State Administration for Market Regulation of China (SAMR) approved the purchase of game developer Activision Blizzard by Microsoft. The regulator has approved the deal, which is valued at nearly $69 billion.
