"Soyuz-2.1a" launched the first radar satellite "Kondor-FKA"

The Soyuz-2.1a rocket with the Fregat upper stage and the first Kondor-FKA satellite was launched from the Vostochny cosmodrome. This was announced by Roscosmos in the Telegram channel.

The rocket was launched at 00:14 Moscow time from pad 1C Vostochny. The carrier worked normally, the upper stage separated from the third stage and launched into the reference orbit.

Earlier, the director of the Joint Directorate of Space Systems of the Scientific and Production Association (NPO) of Mechanical Engineering, Alexei Rabochiy, said that Russia, thanks to the Kondor-FKA-M satellite, would be able to take radar images of the Earth with Google Maps resolution.

The representative of the state corporation Vitaly Mironichev stated that the launch of the second Condor-FKA satellite is scheduled for 2024.
