The head of the Security Service of Ukraine (SBU), Vasily Malyuk, confirmed Ukraine's involvement in the explosion on the Crimean bridge. He shared the details in an interview with journalist Dmitry Komarov, published on YouTube.

Answering a journalist’s question whether the department was involved in the incident, the head of the SBU replied that the Russian facility was a supply route, the work of which Ukraine was obliged to disrupt.

“According to the norms of our current legislation and international, the customs and traditions of warfare, given that it was a logistical route that we were obliged to cut off the enemy, certain such measures were accordingly carried out,” Malyuk said.

The explosion on the bridge across the Kerch Strait occurred on the morning of October 8, 2022. As a result of the explosion of the truck, several spans of the bridge for road transport were destroyed. Four people died. Eight people were detained for complicity in the preparation of the terrorist attack - five citizens of Russia, three citizens of Ukraine and Armenia.
