The Russian army has adopted the Chukavin sniper rifle (SVCh), which will replace the Dragunov sniper rifle (SVD), said the president of the Kalashnikov concern, Alan Lushnikov. It is reported by RIA Novosti.

According to him, positive feedback is received from military personnel using microwaves. “Although, of course, any weapon requires high-quality testing after it is put into production, because a million questions come up in operation,” Lushnikov added.

In October, Rostec announced that the Dragunov sniper rifle used by Russian President Vladimir Putin at a military training ground was suitable for training mobilized due to its reliability and simplicity.

In September, the president of the Kalashnikov concern announced that the Russian Ministry of Defense plans to purchase the Chukavin sniper rifle, which will replace the SVD.
