The leadership of Ukraine is trying to find out how the public relates to the division of the country according to the "Korean scenario" to resolve the conflict. This opinion was expressed by Deputy Chairman of the Security Council of Russia Dmitry Medvedev, reports RIA Novosti.

According to Medvedev, this option is the most acceptable for the Ukrainian authorities, "better than the division along Khreshchatyk or the western regions."

Earlier, Aleksey Arestovich, ex-adviser to the head of the office of President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky (included in the list of terrorists and extremists), said that after the end of the conflict, the Ukrainian side could repeat the “Korean scenario”.

Currently, a special operation of the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation continues in Ukraine. On February 24, 2022, Russian President Vladimir Putin announced its beginning. According to him, the purpose of military action is to demilitarize the neighboring country and denazify its authorities.

The decision to conduct the operation was the reason for new sanctions against Russia by the United States and its allies.
