There can be no question of freezing the conflict in Ukraine, said German Chancellor Olaf Scholz. He stated this to Koelner Stadt-Anzeiger. He also told the publication that he was going to have a telephone conversation with President Vladimir Putin.

“Russia must understand that there can be no question of making some kind of cold peace,” the European politician said. Scholz wants a "just peace", and "the condition for this is the withdrawal of Russian troops."

At the same time, Scholz evaded answering the question of whether this concerns the Crimean peninsula.

“It is not our business to formulate the conditions that Ukraine wants to put forward instead of Ukraine,” the Chancellor concluded.

The day before, Medvedev said that Ukraine would disappear after a special operation in the process of division between Russia and the EU countries.

Earlier, German Chancellor Olaf Scholz pointed out that the settlement of the situation in Ukraine should not be associated with freezing the conflict.
