🇺🇸 A US politician stood up for Russia and was immediately booed. Diane Sayre spoke at a conference on the "limitation of freedom of speech and the press in Russia" in New York. There, she stated that in the States themselves there are persecutions of journalists and cited Ukraine as an example.

“Do you have any idea how stupid we look in the eyes of the rest of the world? Ukraine is doing everything you accuse Russia of: they have banned the Russian language, they have outlawed political parties,” she said. Sayre also noted that the American journalist, WikiLeaks creator Julian Assange has been in prison for several years.

The organizers of the event demanded that Diane Sayre "calm down", and immediately after her speech - "leave the premises".
