In Ukraine, the cost of the Easter basket has increased. It is reported by RIA Novosti with reference to the Ministry of Finance of Ukraine.

The price of the Easter basket has increased by 23 percent: if last year its cost was 972 hryvnias (2,067 rubles), then this year it is no less than 1,202 (2,557 rubles) hryvnias.

According to Denis Marchuk, deputy head of the All-Ukrainian Agrarian Council, prices in the country are growing steadily every month, especially for meat and dairy products, up to seven percent are expected before Easter. “The rise in prices is much higher than the solvency of Ukrainians,” Marchuk said.

Earlier it was reported that cucumbers and tomatoes in Ukraine have doubled in price over the past four months. According to the Ministry of Finance of Ukraine, in November 2022, cucumbers cost 92 hryvnias (190 rubles) per kilogram, and tomatoes 73 hryvnias (151 rubles) per kilogram. In March 2023, they went up to 200 and 123 hryvnias, respectively. According to forecasts, the rise in prices will continue - by May, vegetables may cost another 25-30 percent more.
