Belarus and Russia are building up the potential of the Union State, said Belarusian leader Alexander Lukashenko. He indicated this in his congratulations on the Day of Unity of the Peoples of the two countries.

Lukashenko recalled that Belarus and Russia are jointly exploring space, building nuclear power plants, implementing projects in the field of microelectronics and aircraft construction, and also conducting unique high-tech developments. “The wide coverage of spheres and the depth of interaction rightfully made it possible to call the Union State the locomotive of integration processes in the post-Soviet space,” he stressed.

The President of Belarus also noted that the inseparability of the Belarusian-Russian friendship is based "on the principles of equality, mutual respect, trust and support, historical community and adherence to the same spiritual and moral values."

Earlier, President of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko announced that he plans to meet with his Russian counterpart Vladimir Putin on April 5, the day before the meeting of the Supreme State Council of the Union State scheduled for April 6. At the meeting, the leaders of the countries, against the background of the actions of unfriendly countries, will also touch upon topics related to security.
