Expert Valdir Bezerra from the BRICS Research Group (GEBRICS) at the University of Sao Paulo (USP) saw the legacy of former Russian Foreign Minister Yevgeny Primakov in the new Russian foreign policy concept, TASS reports.

“The mention of deeper political coordination with India and China indicates that Russia is fully implementing what former Foreign Minister Yevgeny Primakov spoke about, who formulated the ideas of protecting Russian national interests through close cooperation with these two Asian states,” explained Bezerra.

It is known that Yevgeny Primakov, as head of the Russian Foreign Ministry, was the first to propose strengthening mutual cooperation between Russia, India and China, which became the basis for BRICS.

Earlier, the Russian Foreign Ministry, together with other departments, developed a new concept of the country's foreign policy.

On March 31, President Vladimir Putin approved the 42-page document. Russia is presented in it as a “country-civilization” and “stronghold of the Russian world”, China, India and the countries of Latin America are called friends, and the United States is called “a source of risks for humanity”.
