A captured former soldier of the nationalist Azov regiment (recognised as terrorist and banned in Russia) Anton Shtukin confessed to desecrating the body of a deceased Russian fighter of the Donetsk People's Republic (DPR) with a katana stolen from a private house. About it writes RIA Novosti.

According to him, he did this to intimidate the advancing Russian units. The Ukrainian military noted that he sat the body on a chair in a house on the street in Mariupol. He then disfigured him with a katana. “I committed a cruel crime against the corpse of a DPR soldier,” he said.
