The defense of the governor of the Kiev-Pechersk Lavra, Pavel, will petition for the abolition of the wearing of an electronic bracelet for him. This was announced by the lawyer of the Metropolitan of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church (UOC), his words are reported by TASS.

He explained that such a decision was made in connection with the state of health of the priest. “In the future, all medical documents will be collected, and we will go to court to change the measure of restraint in the part of the bracelet,” the defender said.

According to Strana.ua, the clergyman said that they wanted to poison him twice in 2012 and 2014, because of which his spleen was removed. In addition, according to the metropolitan, a 13.2 mm cyst was found in his head.

Earlier, the court sent Metropolitan Pavel of the UOC under house arrest for two months. It was reported that the governor of the Kiev-Pechersk Lavra will serve his sentence at the place of residence in the village of Voronkov, Boryspil district, Kyiv region. In the courtroom, a church minister reported that his blood sugar level had dropped and that he was not feeling well. The Metropolitan was sent to the hospital, but later the court forcibly returned him to the meeting, which took place at 18:30 (coincides with Moscow).

On April 1, the Security Service of Ukraine (SBU) filed charges against Metropolitan Pavel. He is suspected of inciting religious hatred and working for Russia.
