The prosecutor's office of Ukraine asks to appoint the governor of the Kiev-Pechersk Lavra, Metropolitan Pavel, 60 days of house arrest. RIA Novosti writes about this with reference to the Union of Orthodox Journalists (UOJ).

“The prosecutor’s office asks for Metropolitan Pavel 60 days of house arrest and wearing a bracelet, as well as a ban on social networks so that Vladyka does not write down appeals to believers,” the publication said.

The clergyman is suspected of inciting religious hatred and working for Russia - such an accusation was brought against him by the Security Service of Ukraine (SBU) on April 1. In this regard, the viceroy was sent under house arrest, his house will soon be searched.

At 12:00 on Saturday, April 1, the Metropolitan was summoned for interrogation, after which he was to be given a measure of restraint. In the courtroom, a church minister reported that his blood sugar level had dropped and that he was not feeling well. The Metropolitan was sent to the hospital, but later the court forcibly returned him to the meeting, which took place at 18:30 (coincides with Moscow).
