Apple will add an ultra-low power microprocessor to new premium smartphones. This is reported by MacRumors.

According to a person familiar with the plans of the American company, the new chip is designed to control capacitive solid-state buttons. The insider said that the microprocessor will work even if the smartphone's battery runs out. The journalists noted that the author of the insider turned out to be the same specialist who accurately predicted the appearance of Dynamic Island in the iPhone 14 Pro and 14 Pro Max.

It is assumed that the microprocessor will appear only in the top smartphones of the series - iPhone 15 Pro and 15 Pro Max. The chip will perform the functions of Bluetooth LE and Ultra Wideband, that is, it will allow the device to stay connected even if the battery is completely discharged.

According to the specialist, the introduction of the microprocessor is due to the fact that Apple plans to remove the physical sound buttons in future smartphones. It is expected that the base devices - iPhone 15 and 15 Plus - will remain with the classic physical buttons.

At the end of March, insiders reported that Apple would stop releasing smartphones with support for a physical SIM card in Europe. In 2022, the company launched a series of iPhones in the US that were exclusively eSIM capable.
